Gratitude Photos Day 11

Today was Self Portrait Day. First up, my toddlers. What kid doesn't like playing with Mommy's phone? Next up, me. I am not a fan of getting my picture taken and I am wearing my new glasses. I'm still getting used to them. My eyes feel sore at the end of the day. I don't know if I even like them. I guess I'm grateful for being brave enough to do a self portrait.

What were you grateful for? Did you do something brave?

Gratitude Photos Days 9 & 10

A little behind I'm afraid. I got glasses yesterday and my eyes were just too sore to post. I've never had glasses before and I'm supposed to wear them all the time. So far, it hasn't been fun. Maybe by the end of the week I'll be grateful for them. For now, here are the things I was grateful for during the past two days.

Sunflower

Play

Some cool clouds before the thunderstorm

Art time

Curious grasshopper (and my daughter didn't mind)

Gratitude Photos Day 8

Well, it's been a whole week and I have managed to take photos and post everyday. Even when I was sick! I find myself stopping and looking for the gratitude moments and that was the whole point. Here is what I am grateful for today.

Engaged in an important conversation and not fighting! Totally grateful for that.

I usually shop alone but then I would've missed this moment.

A favorite game: steal the sock.

I hope you had wonderful moments today and this whole week to be grateful for.

Gratitude Photos Day 6

Terrible, awful migraine today! I still managed to find gratitude and that's the most important thing. All the things I was grateful for helped me with the migraine.

Hot Shower

Darkness

My Hubby (watching football. Pre-season is something he is grateful for. It means the regular season is not far away)

Gratitude Photos Day 5

A Classmate, Cindy Jones Lantier, from Flying Lessons was kind enough to write about me on her blog.

Balloons!

Playing.

One of my three butterfly bushes brought me face to face with a hummer moth and a hummingbird! It was so wonderful. Of course I didn't have my camera when they were flitting from flower to flower. Oh well. I've learned my lesson. What were you grateful for today?

More moments tomorrow. Until then.

21 Days of Gratitude

I have a confession to make, I am a burned out Mama.  It's true.  Like many women out there I have gotten so caught up in "doing" a million things that I have forgotten to stop and enjoy the moment I am in and be grateful.  For my first 21 Days Project I am going to show my "moments of gratitude" through photography.  I always have my iPhone with me and I am addicted to Instagram so I thought, why not combine a gratitude journal with photography. I'm going to snap those moments that make me smile.  Or take a photo of something I am grateful for like my daughter helping with the laundry.  She is just the right height.
There are so many moments that come my way during the day, it's a shame to let them go unnoticed.  I want to change the way I see the world and recognize the things/people I am grateful for.  It will make me a better artist, a better person and will likely help me be less stressed!
Staring Sunday, August 21st, I will take photos of my "moments of gratitude".  At least 3 a day. They will be posted on my flickr page and on Instagram daily.  I can't guarantee they will be on the blog daily (I'm aiming to post three time's a week), but all the photos will be displayed on here eventually.  I have also started a flickr group for those who would like to participate in this project and later ones. You can post photos of your projects (up to 3 a day), leave comments, start discussions and just support each others' creativity.  This should be a fun adventure.  I hope you will join me.  I also want to take a moment and thank Kelly Rae Roberts' Flying Lessons e-course and Brave Girls' Club Soul Restoration e-course for giving me the courage to create art, blog and go down this interesting path I am taking.
Take Time to Enjoy the Moment
